Pickup: Outbox Unpostmen pick up your mail from your mailbox. All unpostmen - and anyone at Outbox who interfaces with your mail - go through a stronger background check than U.S. Postal Service workers go through, giving us the best trained and highest rated workforce.
Processing: Outbox operations specialists use our custom built machines to open, lay out, and photograph your physical mail. These files are then optimized and processed digitally, and then delivered to your digital account.
Storage: your archived physical mail is stored in our bank-grade archival facilities. We store your mail for THIRTY (30) days so that you have enough time to request delivery of any important pieces.
Shredding: for all of the mail that you do not request, we shred and recycle it - guaranteeing protection from identity theft of stolen physical mail.
Your files are securely stored and backed-up. Your account password is encrypted using modern encryption technologies (SHA-512) and a random encryption salt.
We have strict policy and technical controls that prohibit employee access except in these rare circumstances. In addition, we employ a number of security measures to protect user information from unauthorized access.
Outbox employees are prohibited from viewing the contents of files you store in your account. Employees may access file metadata (e.g. file names and locations) when they have a legitimate reason, like providing technical support.
Outbox uses modern encryption methods to both transfer and store your data. Technologies include Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) for transferring files and AES-256 bit encryption for storage.
